Why is a session expensive?

“Wow, you’re expensive”
Is a phase that I am not unfamiliar with.

Being expensive is all relative. What is expensive to one person isn’t expensive to another.

What I do is creative work and at its core it is one of a kind. If you gave another photographer the chance to photograph you with the same setup, lighting and wardrobe the experience that you have is always going to be different. It’s not just the setup, the lights, the wardrobe or the camera that goes into making your session what it is. It’s the overall experience. It’s the connection that we get to make and share.

You are going to pay for what you see value in.

Clients that come to me for a session value:

  • An empowering experience

  • Being photographed by someone who will treat them, their bodies and their beliefs with respect

  • Being photographed in a space that is safe, secure and where consent is always present

  • Being photographed by someone who has learned trauma-informed care

  • Being able to be comfortable and supported throughout a session

  • The opportunity to try different ideas without being judged

  • Seeing all bodies represented/Seeing bodies like yours represented

  • The chance to talk about how their mindset has impacted their body image (and the chance to begin to change that)

  • Being photographed by someone who has similar values to them

  • Quality images

So, yes, I might be expensive but I promise you the experience is worth it.
More importantly, you are worth it.
